The Fountain of Youth star opens up with grace and warmth about her ex’s high-profile relationship, celebrating love, friendship, and mutual admiration.
Eiza González has nothing but kind words for ex-boyfriend Timothée Chalamet — and his blossoming romance with Kylie Jenner.
In a refreshing moment of candor during a new episode of Cosmopolitan‘s Cheap Shots, the Fountain of Youth star, 35, responded to a question about liking a social media photo of Chalamet, 29, and Jenner, 27, attending the 70th David Di Donatello Awards in early May. Rather than sidestep the moment, González leaned in with genuine admiration.
“They look so cute together,” she gushed. “They look so in love and so cute, and I’m obsessed with them, and I love Timmy.”
González and Chalamet were romantically linked back in 2020 when the two were spotted vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. At the time, sources described them as “happy together,” though the relationship was brief. By October of that year, it was reported they had gone their separate ways.

Despite the romance ending, González emphasized that her connection with Chalamet has remained friendly and respectful. “He’s the most talented, sweetest boy,” she said. “And I’m so proud to see him thriving and doing great in his career. We’re just good friends. I have nothing but amazing things to say about him.”
That goodwill extended to Chalamet’s current relationship with Kylie Jenner, which has steadily drawn public attention since the pair were first linked in April 2023. Since then, they’ve made numerous appearances together — from Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour to red carpet moments and sports events. Their official red carpet debut came at the David Di Donatello Awards, where they looked cozy and stylish, stealing the spotlight as one of Hollywood’s most-watched couples.
The two have since been seen together at Coachella, various awards season events, and most recently, cheering on the New York Knicks at the NBA Eastern Conference Finals. Jenner, meanwhile, addressed public comments about her evolving fashion sense in a new Dazed cover story, attributing some of the buzz to assumptions about her relationship.

“That’s so funny, I’ve seen that before too, and I’m always like, first of all, the baddie never left,” Jenner said with a laugh. “People saw me in a flowy dress once and they were like, ‘She’s gone!’ Can a girl wear a sundress once?”
Chalamet, who earned critical acclaim for his role as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, seems to be thriving in both his professional and personal life — and he’s doing so with support from both past and present relationships.
González’s graceful remarks speak volumes about maturity in the often drama-filled world of celebrity relationships. Her embrace of Chalamet’s happiness, along with Jenner’s, offers a refreshing reminder that admiration and kindness can transcend the end of a romance.
As for González, she’s celebrating her own accomplishments, most recently starring in Apple TV+’s Fountain of Youth — and clearly radiating confidence, class, and an open heart.
