Olivia Rodrigo Stuns in Angelic White as She Accepts Catalyst of Change Award at Planned Parenthood Gala

The Grammy-winning artist receives Planned Parenthood’s Catalyst of Change Award, championing reproductive rights and global gender equality with grace, passion, and purpose.

The pop sensation continues her passionate advocacy for reproductive rights and global gender equality with a powerful speech and philanthropic impact.

Olivia Rodrigo made a radiant and meaningful return to the red carpet on Thursday, April 24, as she attended Planned Parenthood’s Spring into Action Gala at Cipriani South Street in New York City. The Grammy-winning artist was honored with the prestigious Catalyst of Change Award, celebrating her unwavering advocacy for women’s rights and reproductive healthcare.

Looking ethereal in an all-white floor-length gown with delicate straps and a subtle slit, Rodrigo, 22, let her outfit speak with quiet elegance. She paired the minimalist look with silver heels, soft pink lipstick, and pulled-back hair, radiating a serene confidence befitting the evening’s cause.

During her heartfelt acceptance speech, Rodrigo reflected on the profound impact her music career has had on connecting with young women.

“The greatest privilege of my career has been the connection I’ve made with women through my music,” she said. “To be in a space where we can all feel safe to be wild, emotional and carefree is incredibly powerful.”

But her reflections turned serious as she addressed the harsh realities many women face outside the safety of those concert venues.

“What kind of world are [those girls] returning to? We live in a world that politicizes our bodies and uses harmful ideologies to deny us safety and healthcare,” she said. “It breaks my heart to think that because of oppressive laws and outdated policies, some of those girls might not get to follow their dreams the way I’ve been able to follow mine.”

Rodrigo has long used her platform to spotlight reproductive justice. In 2022, during her Sour Tour, she addressed the leaked Supreme Court opinion that ultimately led to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, stating boldly, “Our bodies should never be in the hands of politicians.”

In 2024, ahead of her Guts World Tour, she launched the Fund 4 Good initiative, a global campaign supporting gender equality through education, reproductive rights, and the prevention of gender-based violence. The fund works with grassroots nonprofits around the world.

As part of this effort, Rodrigo partnered with the National Network of Abortion Funds for the North American leg of her tour and committed over $2 million from ticket proceeds to ten global organizations. These include:

  • National Network of Abortion Funds (U.S.)
  • Women’s Shelters Canada
  • Women Against Violence Europe
  • The Pratthanadee Foundation (Thailand)
  • Korea Foundation for Women
  • Harmony House Limited (Hong Kong)
  • NPO Women’s Saya-Saya (Japan)
  • Aidha (Singapore)
  • Jhpiego (Philippines)
  • Wesnet (Australia)

Rodrigo’s influence, both musical and social, continues to resonate far beyond the charts. With grace, generosity, and a clear voice for justice, the young artist is redefining what it means to be a pop icon in the modern era—one passionate cause at a time.
