The country band celebrates seven consecutive CMA wins with seven shows benefiting seven charities
Old Dominion has once again proven that music has the power to give back. The celebrated country band—comprised of Brad Tursi, Matthew Ramsey, Trevor Rosen, Geoff Sprung, and Whit Sellers—marked a historic milestone by raising $1.25 million for charity during their record-breaking 7 for 7 Residency at Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium.
The residency, held from February 3-6, was not only a celebration of the band’s seven consecutive wins as the Country Music Association’s Group of the Year, but also a testament to their commitment to giving back. The proceeds from the seven sold-out shows benefited seven charities, including MusiCares, Save the Music, Backline Care, Opry Trust Fund, CMA Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and The Ramsey Foundation, which was founded by Matthew Ramsey and his wife, Sara.
A Record-Breaking Run at the Ryman
In addition to their fundraising success, Old Dominion set a new record for the most consecutive shows performed at the Ryman. Their concerts featured a mix of their beloved hits and a few surprises, including guest appearances by Bear Rinehart of NEEDTOBREATHE, Steven Wilson Jr., Phil Vassar, ERNEST, and The War & Treaty.
Reflecting on the residency, Ramsey, 47, shared in a statement:
“There are so many ways to celebrate something like this. And this song, ‘Making Good Time,’ captures the spark of who every guy in this band was when we started chasing this dream. The journey is just so crazy you can’t believe it when it’s happening to you. But also, no matter what happens, you never forget it.”

A Tease for What’s Next
Beyond their residency, the band hinted at a major tour announcement coming later this month. During one of the Ryman shows, Ramsey let slip a surprise for their fans, known as the “Odies”:
“Sometimes you get so caught up in the moment, you get carried away. I didn’t realize I was going to do it, but then I did. And then it was out there. At least, the news that we’d be doing a real tour, playing our own shows and making it a night for the Odies.”
A Legacy of Giving Back
Following their final show, Old Dominion took to Instagram to express their gratitude, writing:
“We have so many people to thank! But, even better is we have so many people to celebrate and share this with. We knew it would be a blast, and we hoped we’d help our favorite charities. This turned into more than we could’ve ever expected.”
The band’s dedication to charitable giving comes at a crucial time. As Ramsey explained:
“At a time when charitable organizations are doing more with less, we all felt it was really important to support organizations that we know take care of people who need it.”

With a record-breaking residency behind them and a new tour on the horizon, Old Dominion is showing no signs of slowing down. Their 7 for 7 Residency wasn’t just a celebration of their success—it was a powerful reminder of the impact music can have when used for a greater cause.
