Tom Cruise delighted fans with an unexpected appearance at a special Top Gun: Maverick orchestral concert in London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall on Friday, September 27. The 62-year-old actor surprised the packed audience as they gathered to witness a live performance of the film’s score by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, led by composer Lorne Balfe.
Dressed in a suit, Cruise stood before the large orchestra to introduce the 2022 blockbuster, sharing his excitement about experiencing the film in a unique way. “I’ve always wanted to experience a film like this with a live, full symphony orchestra, synchronized to picture, in front of a packed audience in the grandeur of a classic movie palace,” Cruise told the crowd.
The orchestral score, composed by Balfe, along with Harold Faltermeyer, Lady Gaga, and Hans Zimmer, was performed live during the screening of Top Gun: Maverick as part of the Royal Albert Hall’s Films in Concert series.
