The newly engaged couple perform “Bluest Flame” karaoke-style at a festive Seder dinner with friends, following the release of their joint album.
Selena Gomez and her fiancé Benny Blanco are celebrating love, faith, and music in perfect harmony.
On Sunday, April 20, the pop star and producer marked the end of Passover with a warm and joy-filled Seder gathering alongside close friends, including celebrity chef and cookbook author Jake Cohen. The event, affectionately dubbed “Later Seder 2025,” brought together tradition, music, and a healthy dose of karaoke — with a surprise performance of Gomez and Blanco’s song “Bluest Flame.”
Cohen shared a glimpse into the evening on Instagram the next day, posting a carousel of snaps and videos from the celebration. The collection included shots of the Only Murders in the Building actress, 32, and Blanco, 37, cozied up and harmonizing their track, which appears on their collaborative album I Said I Love You First, released on March 21.
In true festive spirit, Cohen’s tablescape featured a challah bread braided into the numbers “4 / 20” to mark the date, while Blanco took a turn at the DJ deck and delighted guests with a giant chocolate bunny.
A Song, A Story, A Sound Reclaimed
“Bluest Flame” — a vulnerable and soulful track — first previewed during a surprise live performance at the A24 x IMAX screening of Spring Breakers in New York on March 19. The emotional ballad holds deep meaning for the couple, who have been open about how the creative process of the album helped them both grow — individually and together.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Gomez shared that Blanco played a pivotal role in helping her reconnect with her passion for music following a years-long hiatus since her 2020 album Rare.
“I was very frustrated and kind of confused on where I wanted to go next musically,” she admitted. “And we had been together for a while, and obviously I would confide in him. I couldn’t figure out my sound.”
With Blanco by her side, she rediscovered her voice in a new way.
“It kind of happened organically,” Gomez said, reflecting on how creating the album together was unlike any experience she’d had before.
Blanco echoed the sentiment, noting that the couple kept the project “really close to [their] chest[s],” allowing it to remain an intimate reflection of their bond.
From Studio to Seder — and Swiftie Conversions
Their love story has clearly had a mutual influence — in more ways than one. During a March appearance on Hot Ones, Blanco confessed that Gomez introduced him to the world of Taylor Swift fandom.
“Before we started dating, obviously I was aware of Taylor Swift’s music, but I wasn’t like a true Swiftie until I was with [Gomez],” he laughed.
The couple, who got engaged in December 2024, continue to embrace life with openness, creativity, and deep affection for one another — whether through shared spiritual traditions or spontaneous performances at the dinner table.
From intimate Seder gatherings to heartfelt melodies, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are proving that love, faith, and music make the perfect harmony.
