The Jonas Brothers star opens up about an awkward in-flight encounter, old scars, and reuniting with Demi Lovato on tour
Joe Jonas has never been shy about sharing personal stories — and his latest confession proves it.
In a new interview for NowThis’ video series Are You Okay?, the 35-year-old singer revealed that he once joined the mile-high club. While he insists the experience was “worth it,” he admitted it came with a hilariously awkward aftermath.
“I joined the mile-high club a couple years ago,” Jonas shared, before recalling the moment he walked out of the bathroom. “I was wearing contacts, left the bathroom, and I thought I was high-fiving my drummer — it was the flight attendant.”
Luckily for Jonas, the incident took place on a private flight. “Or I would be banned from flying,” he joked.
A Look Back at Old Scars
The singer, who finalized his divorce from Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner in September, also revealed a surprising fact about himself during the same interview.
“I have 67 stitches between my eyebrows,” Jonas said, explaining the accident happened during the Jonas Brothers’ early days on the Hannah Montana tour in 2007.
The injury occurred while filming a segment where he pretended to run through a wall. “Part of the video was me running through a wall and being like, ‘Guys, I can run through walls. You gotta come see this,’” he recalled. But instead of breaking through, Jonas tripped on a shoelace, fell, and cut his face open.

“I got rushed to the hospital and had surgery until like three in the morning,” he said. Despite the pain, he noted there was one unexpected silver lining: “Now I don’t have a unibrow anymore, which is nice.”
A Reunion 20 Years in the Making
Beyond the confessions, Jonas is busy celebrating a major career milestone. Earlier this month, the Jonas Brothers kicked off their 20th anniversary tour, JONAS20 Greetings From Your Hometown, at MetLife Stadium.
The tour brought a special reunion with Demi Lovato, their former Disney Channel costar. The singer-actress joined the band onstage to perform a medley of songs from their 2008 movie Camp Rock, delighting longtime fans.
The nostalgic moment capped a summer of full-circle connections for Jonas, who also reflected on the early Disney years with his brothers Kevin and Nick during a March appearance on Good Morning America.
For Jonas, it seems both the highs — and the occasional awkward moments — are all part of the ride.
