Country star rushes offstage during Mississippi show to help his wife, Amber, deliver their baby boy.
Brantley Gilbert had an unforgettable night during his concert in Tupelo, Mississippi, when his wife, Amber Cochran Gilbert, went into labor mid-show. The country rock star, 39, was pulled aside for an emergency backstage shortly after starting his set at the Cadence Bank Arena, only to discover that his wife was giving birth on their tour bus.
In a video shared on Instagram, Gilbert revealed the incredible moment, showing himself rushing offstage and leaving the venue to assist Amber in welcoming their third child. The couple, who have yet to announce their newborn son’s name, shared the news with family before Brantley returned to the stage to continue his performance.
“Last night might have been the craziest night of my life,” Gilbert wrote in the caption. “Watching such an amazing woman do such an amazing thing is something I’ll never forget.”
Brantley’s video also captured a touching moment between him and his mother, where he excitedly informed her, “You got a new grandbaby,” to which she responded with joyful disbelief. Gilbert described Amber as “a freaking savage” for her strength, calling her “absolutely amazing” for how she handled the birth.
Once back on stage, Brantley told the ecstatic audience, “We got a baby,” prompting loud cheers from his fans. The video concluded with black-and-white clips of Brantley holding his newborn’s tiny hands, followed by a heartfelt embrace with his bandmates.
Gilbert expressed his gratitude to his “road family” and the community of Tupelo for their support, and gave a special shoutout to Amber: “Thank you for letting me love you and showing me exactly how incredibly strong a woman can be. I love you.”
The couple, who have been married for eight years, share two older children, son Barrett and daughter Braylen. In May, they announced Amber’s pregnancy with their third child on Instagram, perfectly timed with Mother’s Day. Now, with their new bundle of joy in tow, the Gilberts are celebrating another exciting chapter as a family of five.
